TALK 1: Behind the Scenes of a Phishing Service Takedown - by Robert McArdle
Offering a behind the scenes look at the takedown of a major Phishing service that has likely affected most people in this audience, responsible for over 40,000 phishing sites, targeting numerous international organisations and affected over a million victims.

TALK 2: Navigating the New Landscape: Water Curupira's Response to Cybercrime Crackdowns by Ian Kenefick
In 2023 and 2024, the cybercrime landscape experienced a major upheaval due to coordinated international efforts between law enforcement and private security firms like Trend. These operations, including the takedown of the QakBot Botnet (Operation Duck Hunt) and the targeting of LockBit Ransomware (Operation Cronos), led to the disruption of key cybercriminal entities. By mid-2024, additional operations (Operation Endgame) neutralized platforms like Labhost Phishing as a Service, SystemBC, IcedID, Bumbleloader (Bumblebee) and SmokeLoader.
This talk will examine how these actions impacted the Water Curupira group, a ransomware initial access group, and how they have adapted their strategies to continue their cyber attacks despite these disruptions.
