Ottawa Investment Meeting....

I attached the link below referring to the Citizen Article which makes interesting reading. Some of the excerpts are:

"The bank says that many of those people are tapping into equity in their primary residence to fund those additional property purchases."

"Real estate has been one of the fastest growing assets" "It's above average (historically) but I don't think it's wildly out of balance."

"Vacation purposes were cited by 47 percent of respondents with second properties as the No. 1 reason for owning. The second reason for owning was for investment purposes at 39 percent, followed by income-generating property at 36 percent."

If you have the money buying a vacation property may not be a bad idea but for most people it's important to have somebody else paying for the property for the next 25 years while you pay down the mortgage. There's a couple of things to take away from this article:

Real Estate is the fastest growing asset or investment. You don't have to be rich to become rich (or at least well off) but you do have to act. If you come to my meetings you will see just how easy it is.

You don't have to have all the down payment as you can tap into your primary residence's equity. Of course if you are conservative you will have to come up with the 20% down payment from savings but I make it relatively easy as the properties that I recommend as best investments are the lowest priced and you can get in with about $40K. The additional benefit of using a secured LOC is that the interest is tax deductible.
