Details

RSVPs are now open. I'm looking for at least one volunteer to come to the slip to assist me before and after this event. No experience necessary, full instructions will be provided.

We will start this Blood Moon Sail at 4 pm and stay out until 9 pm. We're going to motor out to a suitable viewing spot in San Diego Bay, drop the hook and watch the moonrise, debauchery to ensue thereafter.

Our moonlight sails are punctuated with several activities that borders on ritualistic but certainly very fun and memorable. Details won't be divulged herein so as to whet everyone's appetite. Those of you that have been on these events in the past will recall the high velocity vegetable which is integral to this event.

Also, if it's warm enough, bring your bathing suit and towel as a dip in the Bay with the underwater boat lights on, might possibly be something that we'll be doing but is not guaranteed. There will also be hot fresh water showers after the dip too.... Hmmm. Everyone should always bring a bathing suit and towels on Neko, always!

I still suggest that you dress warmly as it's always cooler on a boat, on the water. Personal blankets are encouraged as I don't have enough for everyone to snuggle under. Another way to warm up is that I still have lots of Skyliner's spirits to go through too.

GENERAL DIRECTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS

If Meetup says it's full, don't believe it and jump onto the Waitlist. If we are not at 13 peeps, the sail is not full and you will probably get on. New members still have priority with a desired goal of at least 3 newbies per sail. If newbies haven't signed up within 3 days of the sail, returning members will be moved onto the GO list with special consideration given to members that haven't sailed with us in a while and then I'll try to fill the sail in the order that you signed up and don't forget about skipping every other sail to let others get a chance to sail too unless the sail is not full.

We will meet at the location specified on the Meetup RSVP site. Please review the destination and note the RSVP start time is the time we board the boat.

Please don't be late or you will hold everyone else up or may even miss the boat. Call me if you need directions. Park in the spaces for cars, not trailer vehicles, or you will get ticketed or towed.

If you are not at the pickup point by 15 minutes before the departure time, your confirmed space may be given away to anyone on the Waitlist that takes the time to show up and is ready to go. So, if there is a Wait-list and you are on it, you are welcome to show up because you might get onto the sail. However, if you don't get onto the sail, I will automatically put you onto the next scheduled sail.

After you sign up on meetup, message me through meetup with your cell phone number if I don't already have it so that I can reach you if there is a change of plans or something unexpected happens. I will message you privately and provide my cell number to you once I get yours. NO NUMBER, NO SAIL.

SHOES POLICY

CARRY a clean or unworn pair of white-bottomed shoes or non-marking boat shoes to wear on the boat. Wear a SEPARATE pair of street shoes or flip flops to walk to the boat and plan to leave them in a box kept on the boat. Dark soled and street shoes leave track marks and bring dirt onto the boat and will not be allowed. However, if you prefer to go barefoot as I do, just leave your shoes in the receptacle provided and climb aboard!

SAFETY

Safety/orientation briefing for the entire group starts after all are onboard and present and we'll cast off after the briefing is over. It's ok to be early but don't be late or you'll miss the boat. If you haven't sailed with me recently, you must attend the safety/orientation briefing.

CONSUMPTION

Please bring something to eat, drink or share in a potluck format because it adds a festive air to this Barbecue (BBQ) sail. Special priority (Let me know you want to cook) given to BBQ Cook volunteers. There is a large salon table where we can lay out all food items and there will be a large cooler with ice to keep drinks cold. There is no restriction on alcohol quantity or type except red wine is only allowed in the cockpit, not in the salon. There are also 2 full heads on the boat so you don't have to "hold" it the whole time. It is best to also dress in layers as it WILL be cooler in the evening.

LIABILITY WAIVER

Please note that you will be required to sign a Release of Liability waiver to participate in this and future sails. Let's go sailing!
