Meetup was acquired by WeWork in November 2017, AlleyCorp in March 2020, and Bending Spoons in January 2024. Since then, they have begun “digesting” the acquisition — “enshittifying” the product by making features worse and raising prices. I had heard complaints for a while and didn't think much about it until I did some research and after they sent me a renewal bill that was 150% higher than last years.

As a consequence of their actions, I have decided to shut down Coronado Catamaran Sailing Club. However, I've moved the group to a new venue. The new group is called SoCal Catamaran Sailing and more information will be rolling out in the days to come.
