CCSC - EASTER SUNDAY SAIL 042025

Details
RSVPs are currently open.
Let's celebrate Easter Sunday out on the water and look for the Easter bunny. Ok, we probably won't find him but we'll still have fun out sailing.
Everyone will initially be put onto the wait-list and depending on your membership status and your skip status, 10 signups will be moved onto the GO list. Since Meetup does a pretty crappy job of notifying when you've been moved onto the sail so, check back often to this signup site to see whether you've made it onto the sail.
We'll sail in the bay and when we find a nice place, perhaps we'll drop the hook and hang out. And if you want to take a dip in the bay, you're welcome to do so. Either way, bring your bathing suits and towels!
Please note the revised start time of 12 pm until 6 pm, adjusted to allow for use of the best winds of the day We might also get to see an awesome sunset too. The boat boards at the announced meetup time.
I will try to stay on schedule but there is no guarantee that we will be back at the scheduled time due to unforeseen events that could occur, so only sign up if your end time can accommodate possibly being later.
New members still have priority with a desired goal of at least 3 newbies per sail. If newbies haven't signed up within 1 day before the sail, returning members will be moved onto the GO list with special consideration given to members that haven't sailed with us in a while and then in the order that you signed up and don't forget about skipping every other sail to let others get a chance to sail too. If you're one of those still on the wait-list one day before the sail, and the sail is not full, you'll get onto the sail
I still recommend that you dress warmly as it's always cooler on a boat, on the water.
GENERAL DIRECTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS
We will meet at the location specified on the Meetup RSVP site. Please review the destination and note the RSVP start time is the time for boarding.
Please don't be late or you will hold everyone else up or may even miss the boat. Call me if you need directions. Park in the spaces for cars, not trailer vehicles, or you will get ticketed or towed.
If you are not at the pickup point by 15 minutes before the departure time, your confirmed space may be given away to anyone on the Waitlist that takes the time to show up and is ready to go. So for you on the Waitlist, you are welcome to show up because you might get onto the sail. However, if you don't get onto the sail, I will automatically put you onto the next scheduled sail. After you sign up on meetup, message me through meetup with your cell phone number if I don't already have it so that I can reach you if there is a change of plans or something unexpected happens. I will message you privately and provide my cell number to you once I get yours. NO NUMBER, NO SAIL.
SHOES POLICY
CARRY IN YOUR HANDS OR BAG, a clean or unworn pair of white-bottomed shoes or non-marking boat shoes to wear on the boat. Then, wear a SEPARATE pair of street shoes or flip flops to walk to the boat and plan to leave them in a box kept on the boat. Dark soled and street shoes leave track marks and bring dirt onto the boat and will not be allowed. However, if you prefer to go barefoot as I do, just leave your shoes in the box provided and climb aboard!
SAFETY
Safety/orientation briefing for the entire group starts after all are onboard and present and we'll cast off after the briefing is over. It's ok to be early but don't be late or you'll miss the boat. If you haven't sailed with me recently, you must attend the safety/orientation briefing.
CONSUMPTION
Please bring something to eat, drink or share in a potluck format because it adds a festive air to the sail. There is a large salon table where we can lay out all food items and there will be a large cooler with ice to keep drinks cold. There is no restriction on alcohol quantity or type except red wine is only allowed in the cockpit, not in the salon. It is best to also dress in layers as it WILL be cooler if the wind picks up or in the evening. If the wind slows, you can always peel off layers as it can be warmer in the sun.
SUNSCREEN
Spray sunscreens are banned from the boat.
LIABILITY WAIVER
Please note that you will be required to sign a Release of Liability waiver to participate in this and future sails. Let's go sailing!
