About us

Gardening, growing, preserving, and sharing food is the heart of a community. Gardening has the highest rate of return (ROI) of any human endevor. Groceries are expensive and most of the cost of everything is transportation and packaging. My grandparents had a large garden, they rised all kinds of vegitables and canned a lot. I mainly remember beets, sourkrout, and loquat preserves. When I was 8 in 1956 I did not like them at all but my tastes have changed. I remember looking at all those jars on shelves, and pickles. Home style pickles are $50 a quart online. My grandparents worked together with their neighbors, often there was a trade: my grandfther reaised onions and the neighbors raised okra, there was plenty of both.

I took master gardener training while I was working in Iowa, To be a master gardener you have to do community service, training is not enough. Maybe this is my opportunity.

May we work together?
