Let's check out Rueter-Hess Reservoir. I have been here once. It is located at 9343 Double Angle Road, Parker, CO 80134. It's approximately 4.75 miles east of I-25 on Hess Road or about 2.75 miles west of Parker Road on Hess Road. I like to go the back way from the Springs via Hwy 83. If you go I-25, I believe you get off at the Castle Pines Parkway exit.
On Sundays, the lake is open from 8 AM to 6 PM during the warmer months, typically from March through October.
According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife regulations, kayaks and canoes used on Colorado reservoirs such as Rueter-Hess Reservoir and possibly others, must be double-chambered.
A $10 parking pass is required per vehicle to enter the reservoir area. An online reservation for the parking pass is required and can be made via the Douglas County website. You'll need to save your confirmation email to show at the gate (a screenshot or printed copy is recommended due to potential spotty cell service).

Park at the lot down by the shore. Otherwise, you can pull-down there, drop your gear and park at the upper lot, then walk back down. look for the Meetup banner or a guy with a blue bandanna on his head (me). Thanks, JP
