Zombie Apocalypse Happy Fun Run!

Have you heard of the "Hash House Harriers"? It's a worldwide running club with the tagline "Runners with a Drinking Problem"! Our local Colorado Springs group organizes casual running events filled with fun and games at least once a week, and this is a great event for new people! Our events accommodate runners, joggers, & walkers alike, so don't think that you have to be some sort of hardcore-running-enthusiast to participate and have a fun time! We are a very welcoming group!

This particular event will be a very special zombie-themed run, in which runners will be racing through downtown Colorado Springs following an unknown trail while trying to survive the zombies that are chasing close behind them. Don't worry: If you end up getting killed by a zombie the excitement will still continue as you join the growing zombie horde in hunting down the remaining survivors! Rules will be explained in detail before we begin.

The event will begin at Brass Brewing Company for warmup beers. Runners will begin to follow an unknown trail and 5 minutes later the zombies will begin their pursuit. There will be one safe zone midway through the trail where water and beer will be available. The trail will end at a location close to our starting location, where food & drink will be available for purchase as we all wind down from the day's undead festivities. And we'll play a bonus game or two along the way! All in all, the main event should last about 3 hours.

This event is free to anyone attending a Hash House Harrier event for the first time, otherwise the cost is $7 per person. Please wear comfortable running clothes and shoes. Alcoholic consumption is completely optional, however there is a good amount of R-rated song-singing, so probably not the best event to bring children along to! Dogs are not allowed at the starting and ending venues, but they are welcome on the trail if they are leashed. If you happen to have a random piece of chalk and/or a whistle lying about, those would be helpful items to bring along as well, but not required. Zombie make-up will be provided to those unfortunate enough to join the zombie horde. Feel free to invite along as many other people as you like. Oh, and did I mention that there will be prizes? Yes, there will be (very mediocre) prizes to be awarded!
