During this classroom experience, you will learn the basics of:
- Gear
- Navigation
- Meal Planning
- Hygiene and First Aide
- SOS Devices
- How to PackYour Pack
- Planning a Trip
Have a pack and some gear and looking for some help figuring out if it's what you really need? We will do a shakedown meeting before our weekend trip! No gear, no problem.
Attendees of this class will qualify for…
A weekend backcountry backpacking trip that is still being scheduled based on expected spring weather - possible end of May or beginning of June weekend.
Breakout sessions will be held to go over topics presented in the classroom but in greater detail. You'll learn how to select and set up your campsite, the basics of cooking, bear-hanging, and more! There will be plenty of time for "hands on" learning from the experienced backpackers and for just kicking back, hanging out, and relaxing.
You will receive more info on this portion of the adventure during the in-person session. Rental options for gear will be presented.
