US Sec of Education (nominated) Linda McMahon in Co. Springs 8-23

A right wing Colorado Education group in holding a training session, featuring US designated Sec. of Education Linda McMahon on Saturday Aug 23. One of our local Indivisible groups is organizing a protest for the event. Here is an email concerning the event. Please consider dropping by for a few minutes of sign waving.

The Republicans are holding an educational policy summit on 8/23, Saturday, in CO Springs.
The US Secretary of Ed may attend – see below details and click on the link to see the full thing or, if you’d like to register to attend.
Indivisible CS leadership and me too are thinking this is an event we should protest in some way. It is such a brazen way of pretending they are just holding a policy summit when in fact it is a political rally to support their Christian Nationalist agenda, cloaked in safe-speak, to bolster local Republican candidates.
We are calling for a picketing, not too loudly or anything because it is across the street from a condo/townhome association and we are proposing an early time – 7 – 9 AM on Saturday, a week from now.
Hopefully the early time will be easier to accommodate in schedules since it doesn’t cut into folks’ Saturday that much.
We would like to muster 30 folks, at least, to join in the picketing. I will be out of town camping. So, can’t be there myself.
Would you please let me know if you think you can spare the time> I’d sure like to see a presence at this AND, maybe we could hand out some more of our 8/28 event flyers 😊.
