What we’re about

A group of folks eager to cosplay in many genres or events. Virtual events will be held monthly using Zoom. Let s go to cons, ren faire, anime events in NYC & nearby areas, Also special themed or holiday events. Cosplayers, non-cosplayers, gamers, and the people who enjoy them are welcome. Costumes are not required but it makes things more fun!! This is a safe space for all.

Makerspace - Bring your own project! [ONLINE]

Bring your own project to work on. Show off finished projects or works in progress including pictures with Zoom’s “Share Your Screen”. Get inspiration from others, ask questions or just come watch others. Do you knit, crochet, needlepoint, work with foam, sew, etc.? Are you working on a cosplay, home item, clothing, or something else? Talk about events you have plans. Leave a comment below what you are working on or plan to work on.
The link will go to Zoom to register with your email. Download free Zoom app before the event. Join/leave anytime during the event.

Rules for this event

Each guest will be in a waiting room until the host lets you.

Introduce yourself (name & location)

Mute yourself if you have loud background noise

Show off your latest project or materials (Share screen will be available for pictures)

Group screenshot are optional

Use your pronouns, social media in the screen name

Cameras on are preferred but it's OK to mute or go off camera after greeting the host

No racism, politics, violence, or adult content

Be Kind. Any disruptive behavior will be kicked off the call

Queens Fiber Arts Festival [IN PERSON] Bring Fall Cosplay & Yarn crafters

The 3rd Annual Queens Fiber Arts Festival on Oct 26 at the Kings Manor House in Jamaica, Queens.
This is a great outdoor event bring all the fiber friends together. Bring all your fall cosplay since to join in the Fall Festival also happening at the Kings Manor House. There will be knit and crochet classes, crafting circle, yarn giveaways, vendors, and a pumpkin patch.

Feel free to enjoy the festival from 11am-4pm
Weather permitting.

Group pic is from 1pm-1 15pm. Wear something crochet or knit (made or bought) for a group photo or any Fall themed cosplay. Please keep it family friendly. I'll allow up to 10 min grace period for the group photo.

What if I don't knit/crochet, can I still go?
Yes there is a Fall Festival at the same time with Halloween/Fall events. Also, we need people to volunteer to take pics and watch bags.

Directions:
From LIRR from Grand Central Station, Penn Station, or Brooklyn stops to Jamaica Station. At Jamaica, Take the elevator down to the street level. Turn left on Sutphin Blvd, walk 2 blocks to Jamaica Ave. Turn right on Jamaica Ave and it's 3 blocks walk until you get to the park. Only $5 dollars each way from any NYC station for LIRR "City ticket" and with a travel time of 20-30 mins.
Nearest subway is the E, J train at Jamaica Center-Parsons Archer. Exit at Archer Ave, walk until to 153rd St, turn right at the Church then left on Jamaica Ave. to enter the park. If you exit at Parsons Blvd, walk on Parsons Blvd and turn left on Jamaica Ave. It's 3 blocks walk until you get to the park. Check mta.info for planned service changes on the trains

This con has a kids and adults cosplay contest. The 2nd floor has the event space. A diverse group of different cosplayers from DC, Marvel, Anime, Gaming, etc. No meetup place scheduled but have fun if you go. Tag your pics to be added to the stories on IG: thecosplaymeet.

Cosplay etiquette is important. Here are some tips:
- Ask politely to take picture
- No touching without permission this includes hugs, kisses, handshakes or putting your arms around someone during a picture
- Please respect a cosplayer if they say "no" to a photo or touching or asks you to wear your mask, or keep social distance
- No stalking a cosplayer or following them around the con
