For many years we had done events with McCabe's Tavern. Some of our best. But it's time had come, and a new look/feel to coincide with the growing culture of downtown was in order. In it's place, Streetcar 520 rose up this last summer and my has the hard work to change paid off. Gone is the dark, tavern style feel of McCabes. Glass windows in the front of the building run floor to ceiling along with the beautiful skylights of the building exposed to bring in so much light you swear you're outside.
The menu has changed as has the decor. Could one cut Streetcar 520 out of its spot and drop it in San Fran or Seattle it'd be a reservations only for months in advance. Really, only the brick wall behind the bar gives one a hint of the old McCabe's that once was.
Come meet Ari Howard and her team at our Social to hear first hand about the process of the remodel as well as the inspiration that inspired the amazing murals. Fun fact: Ari personally designed and laid out the beautiful light bulb art piece that flows over the top of the bar area. If you haven't been to Streetcar 520 yet, you're truly missing out.
South Downton is truly changing. You may not even recognize the block that 17 years ago had an adult book store and nothing else on it. Now it's the place to be for all. You have Atomic Cowboy/Denver Biscuit Company at the end of the block, Coquette's on the next block, and Shuga's a block away. Not to mention Bar K, Oscar's, IronBird, and Urban Steam are all within walking distance as well.
See you there!
