Peking duck (different to the simpler Knüsprige Ente) is distinctive for its ultra-crisp, lacquered skin and the contrast with tender meat. The duck is air is pumped under the skin to separate it from the fat, then it is seared and coated with a maltose syrup glaze, hung to air-dry for many hours so the skin tightens, and finally roasted at high heat in a specialised oven.

Sinohouse is regarded as the most authentic place in Vienna for Peking Duck.

Normally when you go here you can only have it as a multi-course menu for €77 each. However, I have negotiated that we get Peking Duck just as an appetiser with thin rice pancakes - for €19 each, (which I will collect), and then everyone can order whatever they like on top from the North Chinese menu

What Table for 6½ is about:

Great food, Great people, Great conversations
For each event, a small group of 4-8 people (not exactly 6 1/2, but thereabouts), in a nice restaurant, with enough space and a conducive environment in which to eat, drink, talk and think.

As the table size is limited to max 8 people:
- You must sign up on Meetup to attend
- It’s really important to cancel if you’re not coming
