SoDeCo: Tuesday at LaPine State Park

Details

This week we'll work on brushing and sight line work along the northern side of Fall River. We started to clear this section last summer but need to finish it up. We need your energy and enthusiasm to get this work done. No experience necessary.

Where: We'll meet this week at the Tubes in the FIRST parking area. There will be a COTA sign on the road to help you out. We'll need to hike for about 15 minutes from the parking lot to get to the work site. There will be a COTA sign board out on South Century Drive (approximately 5 miles from Thousand Trails Campground) indicating the left turn onto the dirt road.

Google map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/phTUkv1gpGpHCL8UA - IF COMING SOUTH FROM LAPINE AREA, YOU WILL NEED TO COME IN OFF SOUTH CENTURY DRIVE. GOOGLE WILL TRY TO ROUTE YOU THROUGH A GATE THAT IS LOCKED.

When: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, so we can have an on time start. If anyone is running late or gets lost, please call or text your Crew Leader.

What to expect: After meeting with your Crew Leader, the group will have a short safety and work overview briefing. From there, the group will gather tools and walk to the work area. Be prepared for hard work and to have FUN! We love talking about the trails and the techniques used to maintain them, so ask questions if you have them.

Cancellation: Plan on working rain or shine. If there is inclement weather, smoke from wildfires, or anything COTA deems dangerous, your COTA Crew Leader will update this meetup page and a message will go out. If you do not hear from your COTA Crew Leader, the event is on.
