Women of COTA SECTOR 16 Brushing

Details
Women of COTA is centered on bringing women together in a supportive environment to learn about COTA and the trail building/maintenance process. So if you've wanted to give back to our local trails AND unite with like-minded individuals who share a passion for mountain biking---here's your chance!
What: We will be brushing sight lines on Sector 16 starting at the Shooting Star Shelter on Upper Whoops. No experience is necessary. We will walk in from the shelter. We hope to have several work parties on this trail. Some will be ride & work with bikes, but this first event is walk-in.
Where: We will meet at the Welcome Center and carpool to the site. Look for the WoCOTA signs. (Note if the Welcome Center parking lot is full, you can find parking across Century at the start of Conklin Rd.)
When: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, so we can have an on-time start.
What to expect: After our meet-and-greet we will will have a short safety and work overview briefing. We will gather tools and carpool to the work area from our meeting spot.
Be prepared to work and to have FUN! Talking about the trails and the techniques used to maintain them is fun, so ask questions if you have them.
If you have to cancel, please be kind and send a message at least an hour before the event.
Plan on working rain or shine. If there is inclement weather, smoke from wildfires, or anything COTA deems dangerous, we will update this Meetup page and also send an email to everyone out through Meetup. If you do not hear from us, the event is on.
What To Bring:
Please wear long pants. The area we are working is very dense with vegetation.
• Sunscreen/chapstick
• Water
• Snacks
• Close toed shoes
• Backpack to carry your things
• Gloves
• Eye protection (glasses, sunglasses - we will have some as well)
