SoDeCo: Afternoon Delight Trail Maintenance West of Rd 41

Please join us for a work party on Afternoon Delight next Thursday 1-4 pm.

What: We'll be performing basic trail maintenance, including cleaning drains, brushing and tread work. No experience required! You will be rewarded with brownies and drinks afterward! This may be our last chance to prep the trails before winter snows arrive.

We'll meet at the intersection of Forest Road 41 (Conklin) where Afternoon Delight crosses FS41. We'll bring a sign to put out on the road so you won't miss it.

When: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, so we can have an on-time start.

What to expect: We will have a short safety and work overview briefing and then walk in to the work site with tools. After meeting, we will cross Rd 41 and hike down the trail a bit to where drains have not yet been cleared this year on Afternoon Delight and to begin maintenance. Be prepared for hard work and to have FUN! Talking about the trails and the techniques used to maintain them is fun, so ask questions if you have them. There is something for everyone.
Plan on working rain or shine. If there is inclement weather, smoke from wildfires, or anything COTA deems dangerous, we will update this Meetup event. If you do not hear from us, the event is on. We will review AQI based on Purple Air and if necessary will cancel by 4:00 pm.

What To Bring:

• Long pants

• Eye protection
All tools and hard hats will be provided.
