STAR (Trail F): Rock Work Training for MTB Trails

This training is for you! All experience levels are welcome*
What will I be learning?
- Rock work tools
- Lifting
- Trundeling
- Hand/Finger Smashing
- Using Rock Sling to avoid trips
- Rock harvesting
- Trail armoring
- Building sustainable features for all riders
- and more!
Why: Trail F is ~3 miles of machine and hand build trail with tons of natural rock features. There are plenty of opportunities to make very cool, challenging rock tech sections and sections that need rock armoring to make the trail more sustainable.
When: Be ready to go by 8am. After a safety and tool talk we will walk to our worksite which is right near the parking area. We will end at 1145 with time to debrief and grab a cold drink.

How to get there:
Go up Three Creek Road Turn left on NF 1608
Stay on 1608 for 1.75 miles then turn left on NF 1608-800 (From this point on the road has a few rocks and some very sandy sections. If you don't want to drive your car all the way down, please text me and I can organize a pick up)
Drive down this road for .85 miles until you see a large open area to left.
Park off the road in the clearing.
Please drive in from Sisters. The backroads are can be pretty rough.
What To Bring:
*Warm clothes (layers)
Sunscreen/chapstick
*Water
Snacks
*Sturdy, close toed shoes
Backpack to carry your things
*Long pants
Knee pads can be super helpful.
Work gloves
*Eye protection (glasses, sunglasses - we will have some as well)
All tools and hard helmets will be provided.
I will be checking the AQI daily and make a decision the evening before.
