What we’re about
Welcome to the Courageous Collaborators Club!
This is a clubs dedicated to all those who:
- Are interested in developing themselves and a creative and spontaneous improviser in whatever industry you might be in, with a light focus on improvised theatre and comedy.
- Those who want a community in which to develop their leadership and emotional education; not only to maintain a healthy internal balance through forming clearly articulated boundaries between within themselves and the outside world, but also to support others to speak their truths with brave honesty and authenticity. This could be as performers, or in the context of community advocate work or social justice workshops, helping to ensure that the voice of who we support are heard, respected and help equally amongst their peers; no more, no less.
Therefore, the club is ideal for:
- Creatives looking to better connect with themselves to improve their ability to create new and interesting things outside of their comfort zone.
- Team Leaders looking to improve the dynamics and collaboration of their teams through better communication conflict resolution and bolstering the emotional intelligences of their members.
- Facilitators and diplomats, who want to improve the ways they create “safe”, “transparent”, “inclusive” spaces which ALSO Encourage freedom expression, without fear of rejection or exposure.
The core offer of this club is three-fold.
1. IMPROV(ing) Spontaneity Course
The first A course combining training in a range of therapeutically informed emotional leadership competencies scientifically proven to improv people ability to think more spontaneously, while at the same time developing key life skills in emotional intelligence, forming healthy relationship across personal and professional boundaries and understanding learning cycles to support the theoretical process behind healing from and overcoming trauma.
The course not only looks at the competencies required to direct our own emotional growth but support the journeys of others. Integrating leadership training to enable individual to facilitate and maintain environments “inclusive spaces” that successfully navigate conflict and foster productive conversations by encouraging freedom of expression.
This is not a therapy session as recognised by any board. However, using the same therapeutically informed practices, what it does do is shed light on the skills and behaviours that enable us as human beings to manage and coordinate our own “emotional education” towards becoming confident, decisive, resilient, sensitive but resolutely wise agents in our lives, and masters of our traumas and challenges. These are skills that we believe to be the future of core education, and which will be taught in schools alongside Maths, English, and Science. Skills that are currently lacking in our global society and the root cause of most human conflict.
2. Courageous Collaborator Events
There are two types of events.
The first are open to all members, terms by us as guests and Courageous Collaborator’s (CC’s). Guests are all those who have entered the group and are free to engage in discussions or events that have been created specifically for guests AND CC’s.
The second are Events that are specifically for CC’s these are events that are for those interested in delving into more personal matter in-person workshop and perhaps digital workshops. Here we will be using Improv and comedy bust also tragedy to express ourselves and share our deeper truths to help address our traumas and learnt behaviours. This is only open to those who have completed the initial course as this work requires a fundamental understanding of trauma, the nature conflict and healing. Not to mention the true appreciation and dedication to the core Courageous Collaborator philosophies to H.E.E.D (outlined below).
3. Our community.
The aim of this community is to grow a group of peer support mentors that span both creative and professional industries. Forming a group of leadership experts who use the tools of humour, honour, and communication to facilitate Courageous Collaboration first for themselves and then passing it on in all their communities. This group aims to create a network for people to connect from diverse cultures and industries to share advice, support, and collaborate on new opportunities. A global network of performers thought leaders, facilitators, therapists and diplomats lead by a single cause – to develop within our communities an essential and neglected skillsets of emotional growth and conflict resolution.
There are few specific rules for this community, but all members are, to their ability, asked to commit to the following principles of Courageous Collaborators.
For more on this consider joining our IMPROV(ing) Spontaneity Course.
Courageous Collaborator’s Philosophies to H.E.E.D.
- To Honour Our Self, through candid, authentic expression despite fear; and honour the contribution and expression of our peers with consensus, query and debate.
- To Explore any ‘dialogue’ with the intention of discovery; uncovering common truths and exploring our differences with awe, good humour and accountability.
- To Endure against the banes and miseries that would otherwise inhibit us; to instead expose and exploit these in our endeavours, in our art and in our lives.
- To Discover our balance through play, and with our newfound balance we renew our love of play; an endless cycle of discovery, creation and growth.
