Most people never try a Capture The Flag because they assume you have to already know how to hack. That's backward. A CTF is how you learn.

Wednesday night we go live on our own CTF platform — challenges running on Cover6 infrastructure, a live scoreboard, and real flags you'll capture during the session. Not a talk about CTFs. An actual one, built by us, running on our own gear.

- What a CTF actually is — how scoring works and why employers run them as interviews
- The categories: web recon, network forensics, OSINT, and a live SIEM investigation in Splunk
- Live walkthrough — capturing your first flags on a real target, start to finish
- Where to look first, and what to do when you're stuck

Most SOC training runs on canned data. You already know what you're supposed to find before you open the SIEM. That's not what the job feels like.

Tonight we work a live Splunk environment fed by real internet attack traffic — hitting a live honeypot, right now, while we're on the call. Nothing staged, nothing simulated. Don't take our word for it: scan the honeypot yourself during the session and watch your own IP land in the SIEM within minutes.

🎯 What We'll Cover
- What a SOC analyst actually does — the tiers, the alert queue, and where you'd sit on day one
- Reading a real alert: true positive, false positive, and the disposition note your manager actually reads
- Live SPL — the handful of Splunk queries that do most of the work
- Scan the honeypot yourself and watch your traffic surface in the SIEM in real time
