Sometimes it’s love we held onto.

Sometimes it’s pain.

Sometimes it’s a decision, a secret, a regret, or a quiet act of courage.

Some things don’t disappear with time.

They become part of us.

The people we were.

The people we became.

The stories we’re still carrying.

Tonight is about those stories.

### What is a Story Slam?

A Story Slam is a night of real-life stories told live.

Funny, emotional, awkward, wild, or unforgettable —

stories that actually happened.

Each event has a theme that inspires the stories of the night.

Theme: The Things We Kept

Story time: 5–7 minutes

Extras: Mulled wine, cozy drinks, and snacks

Entry: Free! (Tips help cover the mic & Uber costs.)

## Want to Tell a Story?

Here’s how it works:

### DO

• Tell a real story — something that actually happened.

• Keep it 5–7 minutes.

• If you go over, we’ll flash a light.

• Keep going? We’ll ring a bell.

• Extra minutes = 1 point deducted.

• Make sure your story has a beginning, middle, and end.

• Give us stakes — why should we care?

• Be honest. Be entertaining. Be real.

### DON’T

• No essays, lectures, or philosophy speeches.

• No reading from notes or paper — speak from the heart.

• No complaining — turn your experience into a story with meaning.

Audience judges give a score.

At the end of the night, we crown the Story Slam winner.
