# TONIGHT'S THEME: YOUR FIRST TIME

Do you remember your first time?

The first time you did something that changed you.

Maybe it was your first kiss.
Your first love.
Your first heartbreak.

Maybe it was the first time you travelled alone, moved to a new country, started a new job, stood on a stage, or did something that terrified you.

Maybe it was something completely ordinary that became unforgettable.

Your first day at a new school.
Your first night in a new city.
Your first real friendship.
Your first time getting completely lost.
Your first terrible mistake.

Maybe it was funny.

Like the first time you tried something you definitely weren't ready for.

Maybe it was awkward.

The first date that went terribly.
The first time you embarrassed yourself in front of someone you liked.
The first time you realized you had absolutely no idea what you were doing.

Maybe it was difficult.

The first time you lost someone.
The first time your heart was broken.
The first time you had to start over.
The first time you realized that life wasn't going to be what you expected.

Or maybe it was beautiful.

The first time you felt completely at home somewhere.
The first time you met someone who would become important to you.
The first time you discovered a passion.
The first time you realized you were becoming a different person.

Because first times have a special kind of power.

You only get one first kiss.
One first day.
One first adventure.
One first leap into the unknown.

And even when we don't realize it at the time...

our first times often become the stories we remember forever.

Tonight, we celebrate the beginnings, the mistakes, the discoveries, the awkward moments, the unexpected adventures, and the experiences that introduced us to a completely new part of life.

Because every expert was once a beginner.

Every great adventure had a first step.

And every unforgettable story...

### What is a Story Slam?

A Story Slam is a night of true, personal stories told live.

Funny, emotional, awkward, inspiring, or unforgettable — stories that actually happened.

Each event has a theme that inspires the night.

Story time: 5–7 minutes

# IMPORTANT FOR STORYTELLERS

Your story must:

✅ Be a real story — something that actually happened
✅ Be told live — no reading
✅ Clearly connect to the theme: YOUR FIRST TIME

If it doesn't follow the theme or isn't a story, it won't be eligible for scoring.

# WANT TO TELL A STORY?

Here's how it works:

### DO

✅ Tell a real story — something that actually happened.
✅ Keep it between 5–7 minutes.
✅ If you go over, we'll flash a light.
✅ Make sure your story has a beginning, middle, and end.
✅ Give us stakes — why should we care?
✅ Be honest. Be vulnerable. Be real.

### DON'T

❌ No essays, lectures, or philosophy speeches.
❌ No reading from notes or paper — speak from the heart.
❌ No complaining — shape it into a story with meaning.
❌ No stories that ignore the theme.

# AFTER EACH STORY

Audience judges give a score.

At the end of the night, we crown the Story Slam winner.
