CPLUG LAB - BareOS backup implementation
Details
Andrew Leer will be bringing in his BareOS server that he set up for this lab.
BareOS is a Bacula implementation, and Andrew has been toying with it's many abilities in recent months. This will be a fun opportunity to get your hands on a very versatile open source enterprise ready tool set that you could use yourself, or scale up for bigger datasets.
To follow along on this lab, you'll need resources to run virtual machines. You won't need to run more than one VM at a time, so most VT-X capable laptops will be fine. You'll want to install vagrant, virtualbox, and the relevant plugins. Details for the software being used can be found here: https://github.com/leeand00/BareOSDemoCPLUG
Andrew will be presenting on Ubuntu 16.04 and using Turnkey Linux 14 LAMP.
Please don't be intimidated by these requirements, if there's anything you don't understand, someone will be there who can help you understand what's going on. See you there!
Detailed instructions: (to do before you arrive)
Installing Vagrant - Follow the documentation for your distro here: https://www.vagrantup.com/docs/installation/ Installing from standard repositories can often lead to problems.
Install Vagrant Plugins - Follow the documentation here: https://www.vagrantup.com/docs/plugins/usage.html
P.S. There is no charge to us as a group for meeting in the Library, but it would be nice to give them a donation. Money placed in the Caddy at this lab will go to the Marysville-Rye Library for their generosity in allowing us to meet on such short notice.
