Austin C/C++ Boost Double Feature: Boost.Build and Boost.ASIO

Details
Join us at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5th for a double helping of Boost goodness as David Cravey and Tim Simpson discuss Boost.ASIO and Boost.Build! Doors will open at 6:30 so please arrive ahead of time so we can get ready.
I. Getting Started with Boost and Boost.Build!
Many introductions to C++ discuss how to read and write code, but one area that's often glossed over is how to actually compile it. Turning that beautiful code into an actual binary can be a frustrating task for even long-time C++ developers and presents a discouraging learning curve for newbies.
While there's plenty of build tools out there, only one is worthy to carry the name Boost- Boost.Build! Join Tim Simpson as he demonstrates how to use this amazing free tool to create simple, portable build scripts capable of creating executables, shared libraries (DLLs), and unit tests for Windows, Linux, and whatever other platform your code dares to compile in! Even if you're already comfortable with a different build tool, this talk will help you learn how to compile the Boost libraries on their terms.
Tim Simpson has been programming since the age of nine, which really impresses his parents. He currently works at Rackspace as the team lead on the Cloud Databases product, and is a core member of OpenStack Trove. He's also the current organizer of the Austin C/C++ Meetup as well as part-time salesperson for Hyper Basic.
II. High Performance Networking with Boost.ASIO
Boost.ASIO provides cross platform and high performance ASynchronous I/O. As the design of Boost.ASIO promotes good application design it is a first choice for C++ networking applications. Join Dave Cravey as he explains how to utilize this fantastic library.
David Cravey is a Senior Architect for Clear Measure in Austin, TX. David has a love for software design, and a passion for sharing this love with the community. As a C++ enthusiast David has been awarded a Microsoft Visual C++ MVP for 3 years, and this year received the VC++ MVP of the year award. He is the leader of several C++ User Groups including: the Houston C++ User Group, DFW C++ User Group, the San Antonio C++ User Group, and the new C++ Brown Bag (weekly online lunchtime presentation).
The talk will take place at Rackspace's Austin office, located on the East side of IH-35 right before Rundberg and after Henna Chevrolet (there is a sign for Rackspace which is visible from the highway). Feel free to park in the same lot as the big Rackspace flag.
