Berkeley: A new Unicode aware string class for C++


Details
We'll present a brief overview and explanation of Unicode and how it allows the processing of non-English languages. We will cover the pros and cons of various string formats, including UTF-8, UTF-16, UCS-4, etc.
This session will introduce and discuss our new BSD-licensed CsString library.
No prior knowledge of CopperSpice or DoxyPress is required.
Barbara Geller and Ansel Sermersheim are the co-founders of CopperSpice, a C++ GUI library; and of DoxyPress, a documentation generator. They have both spoken at CppCon 2015 and C++Now 2016, as well as at the ACCU Bay Area meetup.
Barbara has programmed in C++, Qt, Visual Objects, Clipper, PHP, and Java. Ansel has programmed in C++, C, Lisp, Java, and Perl, with extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and multithreaded design, and is an avid follower of the C++ standard.
