Template Meta-State Machines, Madness and Shannon

Details
Hot on the heels of our recent C++ Meetup in September, and as promised, we’ve another meetup organised for the start of next month!
We’re delighted to announce this next meetup will be on Thursday the 9th of November. The meetup will start at the slightly earlier time of 6pm and will be graciously hosted by MCS at their fantastic new offices on the 10th floor of the The Ewart building on Bedford Street.
On top of that we’re also bringing over Jason McGuiness, a long time member of the BSI C++ Committee, recognised expert on high performance C++ systems, and generally known as the “Mad micro-optimiser!”
It’s fantastic to be able to bring Jason over to give a talk at the meetup which has been made possible through sponsorship by Clearpool, who most of you will know already from previous meetups.
The talk is titled “Template Meta-State Machines, Madness and Shannon”, which in Jason’s words is about: “Investigating the limits of extreme micro-optimisation in C++ — After years indulging in the temptations of micro-optimisations, I shall present a definitive, micro-optimiser's guide to implementing template meta-state machines!”
What more is there to say really?
Well just a little as it happens, and that is that the agenda will follow the usual format:
- Arrive, meet people, eat and drink - and hopefully meet some new faces!
- Welcome and Introduction with some words from our generous hosts
- The main event: Jason’s talk, with questions encouraged!
It’s great to be back into more frequent meetings again so RSVP early and we’ll look forward to seeing you there!
