October C/C++ Meetup

Hello Everyone,

We're happy to announce a new CPPDUG meetup which will take place in a new venue, that we're really keen to visit. The meetup will be sponsored by Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/) in their Dublin office, who have kindly offered to provide food and drinks for the evening.

Talk title: "An introduction to modern C++" by David Rothera https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidrothera/

Description: The talk will be an introduction to features which were introduced in C++11 along with talking through some of the performant and useful classes inside our own open source C++ framework Folly https://github.com/facebook/folly along with examples along the way

Talk duration: 60 minutes

Agenda:
6:30 entry – Register with security, talk to people and eat some pizza

7:00 – 7:15 – lightning talks (is anyone interested in volunteering?)

7:15 – 7:30 – C++ Blinky Light Automation [Richard Sheehan @fb]

7:30 – 8:30 – Introduction to modern C++ [David Rothera @fb]

8:30 – 9:00 – Mixup. finish up the pizza and go home

Our aim is to continue delivering high quality technical content, so get ready for another C/C++ Monday evening!
