John McFarlane : CI, Tooling and C++
Details
You are all very welcome to this month's c++ talk.
Sorry for the late notice, we hope to see you there !
This talk explores some topics around the challenges of writing C++ to a reasonable level of quality. The first 90% of the talk looks at bug-catching tools, contracts and UB, safety-critical considerations, Agile practices, and workflows. In the second 90%, he'll walk through experimental projects that demonstrate ways to combine the solutions he's found so far.
John is a software engineer living in Ennis, working in automotive software, and previously in various fields including server software and games. He has experience with various national and international C++ committees including the NSAI. On Saturdays, he listens to music sessions and hangs out at the local Coder Dojo. He owns half a cat.
