I'm a professional C++ developer who hasn't written a line of C++ code since last November. Not because I stopped shipping code, but because I've been committed to learning how to get AI to do it for me.

This is a preview of my accepted CppCon talk, and it's a working practitioner's report, not a theory lecture. The talk discusses the actual workflow I use for production C++, and the reasons each piece of it exists (spoiler: most of them got added right after something went wrong).

I'll cover what C++ developers actually need to know about how gen-AI models work, what the "agentic loop" is really doing under the hood, and how to get production-quality C++ out of systems that are, underneath it all, very confident guessers. Opinionated, yes. But the opinions have scar tissue behind them.

The number of C++ devs dabbling with AI has gotten a lot bigger in a year, which means a lot more of you are now doing this too, and have found things I haven't. So come ready to discuss. Bring your questions, your war stories, and your "you're completely off your rocker" objections.

The best version of this talk is the one where you interrupt me with questions... or answers.
