What we’re about

This is an online support group for people with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD). It is a place where people can learn more about what CPTSD is, how it manifests itself, how to heal from it, different healing strategies and to feel supported on their healing journey. It is a place where you can find resources to help you. This support group is a place where you can share your personal stories, express emotions, and be heard in a safe and secure atmosphere of acceptance, understanding, and encouragement. By helping others, people in a support group strengthen and empower themselves.

To attend the meetings please go to the following link and book into the session under the CPTSD Support Group section: https://www.turningtidestoday.com/life-coaching-counselling-services
You will pay the $5 fee to attend each session there instead of on meetup.
Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (complex PTSD, sometimes abbreviated to c-PTSD or CPTSD) is a condition where you experience some symptoms of PTSD along with some additional symptoms. C-PTSD is believed to be caused by repetitive abuse or neglect over a long period of time. The abuse often occurs at vulnerable times in a person's life—such as early childhood or adolescence—and can create lifelong challenges.

Support groups are a way for people with a common experience to help each other and learn from each other as well as provide emotional and moral support.
With this support group we hope that you:

  • feel included and supported
  • feel safe and comfortable sharing my experiences and thoughts with the group
  • feel like I am respected in the group
  • understand what's expected of group members and the the group rules and guidelines
  • learn helpful ways to cope with your concerns or support a loved one
  • being provided with good, helpful information
  • enjoy the group
  • see benefit in being part of the group
  • feel better after attending meetings
  • don't have any concerns around confidentiality
  • feel like your privacy is being respected

It's normal to feel a bit nervous going into a new group, and it may take a few meetings to feel comfortable sharing your thoughts or experiences with the group. Simply listening can also be very helpful.
This group will post links to workshops to help in the CPTSD education and healing process.
If you would like to join the private FB group you may do so here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/cptsdsupportgroup
This is NOT a crisis line message board. When you are in crisis please access crisis resources. It is appropriate to ask if anyone knows of appropriate crisis resources to share (without expectations group member will help resolve the crisis).
