Details of the speakers:

  • [ENG] Development of fitguardian - mechatronic mannequin. Stand-up comedy – Marcin Gałczyński. Funded by NCBIR in 2022, then called Morfer, the fitguardian was a fantastic idea to accelerate fashion warehouse measurement and photography processes for garment. Thanks to ideal size matching, it should help in massive reduction of rates of return in fashion business and warehouse processing cost reduction. This presentation showcases the ideas, issues and technical solutions behind the machine and it's current state of play. It's also a humorous tale about delivering such a government sponsored research project in Kraków, Poland.
About the speaker: Marcin Gałczyński is a passionate programmer and engineer, and a manager when the job calls for it. Never close to a master's degree, powering his success by incurable imagination, relentless experimentation, and a lot of hard work. Currently employed by Int4 AG, he leads a team of programmers developing Int4 Suite - the company's flagship tool focused on mass scale test automation for large enterprises.
  • [ENG] Development of fitguardian - mechatronic mannequin. Stand-up comedy - Katarzyna Kijania - Robots are great at following maps until the walls disappear or the GPS signal bounces off a warehouse roof. Transitioning from an indoor facility to an outdoor loading dock is a classic "localization nightmare" where traditional methods often fail. During this presentation, we’ll walk through various approaches to multi-sensor fusion. We will dive into practical methods for combining LiDAR, IMU, and GNSS data that don’t "jump" when crossing the threshold. I’ll share practical insights on implementing the GLIM framework and using selected datasets to bridge the gap between indoor and outdoor environments.
About the speaker: Katarzyna Kijania is a ROS Developer and a PhD student specializing in localization methods for mobile robots. A graduate in Control and Robotics from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, her professional portfolio includes developing automated tracking systems for dynamic objects, autonomous car-trailer combinations, and automated forklift robots. Currently at the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Automotive Industry Institute (PIMOT), she continues to work on innovative technologies for the future of autonomy.
