**Small Beginnings, Big Impact: How a Side Project Became Our Production RAG Chatbot**

At Shapr3D, we developed an AI-powered chatbot using a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) framework. What began as a proof of concept quickly evolved into a production-ready solution, now publicly available to our users. The business case continues to grow, and the project has laid a strong foundation for future AI initiatives.
In this talk, I’ll share our journey from prototype to production, highlighting the unexpected challenges I faced when deploying the chatbot publicly. We’ll discuss how I addressed issues such as hallucinations, the strategies we used to improve reliability, and our plans for the next stages of development. The insights shared in this talk may help you guide your own RAG project and prepare more effectively for the challenges of bringing it to production quickly and successfully.
