✨ Be Part of the Brew!
We’re inviting you to join us for a hands-on brewing experience at LUKI Brewery. No brewing experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and passion for great beer and inclusivity. Let’s collaborate, learn, and make an incredible beer together!
This coming Saturday, 2/15 we are brewing the Pink Boots Collaboration Brew at LUKI Brewery in Arvada. We’re inviting you to join us for a hands-on brewing experience at LUKI Brewery. No brewing experience is necessary! Below are the details of the day…Sorry in advance for the length. Schedule at the bottom 😄
Well, there's no getting around it, a typical brew day lasts around seven hours, shorter or longer depending on recipe and that "things happen" throughout the day. With our planned 7am start, expect to be completely wrapped up with a post-brew beer in hand around 2p.
That said, your level of participation is up to you. Come for the whole day, or come for the most photogenic part of the day, highlighted on the schedule below with *. And even when you are here, come to watch, or come to actually do some labor. The taproom is open the whole time, and we have wifi. Many guests have brought their laptop, to do other work and then pop their head into the brewery every so often to see what's going on. Don't feel obligated for any part of the brew day, you are welcome to just come see what the fuss is all about!
If you do plan to be in the brew area you must follow the dress code:
You must wear jeans or long pants and shoes that are waterproof - like hiking boots. Many things in the brewery are under pressure. Worst case scenario you might get sprayed with boiling sugar water, and although this has never happened - never say never. What always happens is walking on top of sugar water, both hot and cold. We'll provide safety glasses and gloves when you need them.
The brew team arrives 7am and the front doors will be unlocked right about this time. We’ll need about 15 minutes of getting set up and moving things out of the way, then we start. Once water hits the grain, the "train has left the station" as we say, and there's no stopping the entire brew process. Times here are approximate, based on history... but things happen and it could go quicker or slower.
7:15a Mash In (Add Hot water to grain).
8:45a Lautering (recirculating mash water and filtering wort).
9:30a Transfer to Boil Kettle.
*10:15a Grain Out (scoop out grains from mash tun).
*10:45a Boil start, add first hops.
12:15p Boil end, begin whirlpool.
12:30p Begin transfer to fermenter.
1:00p transfer complete. Begin cleanup.
2:00p. Pitch yeast, brew day complete. Time to celebrate our success with a beer!
Please send along any questions you have. Otherwise, we look forward to getting everyone together on Saturday.
Cheers!
Cammy
