7:30pm Blundit

Presented by Brian Hogg

We hear a lot every day from people claiming to be experts: open up Facebook, read a blog, read the newspaper, and you're inundated with opinions on things that have happened, and predictions about what will happen. But how do you know which talking heads know their stuff and which are full of hot air? Enter Blundit, an in-progress tool intended to help rate the accuracy of all experts and pundits, to describe their reliability and provide peace of mind. Brian Hogg, creator of Blundit, will demo the site, and take you through some of the challenges and complexities of building it.

8:15pm The Journey to DX3 2017

Presented by Tom Auger of Art & Science (https://artscience.ca/)

DX3 is an annual tradeshow at the intersection of marketing, design and technology and Art & Science has been attending for the past four years. We treat our booth at the tradeshow as an opportunity to do a “dry run” of some of our wackiest ideas for innovative uses of technology - software and hardware - to create memorable, usable activations and experiences.

The Art & Science team started brainstorming and planning for the March, 2017 show in early December of 2016 and went through many ideation sessions, concept refinements, technical sanity checks and failures before our final build and the 2-day tradeshow event.

This is the story of our end-to-end journey, along with many learning points along the way.

8:45pm Chatbots and VUI

Greg Bolton will be discussing Jam3's experiences developing chatbots and Voice User Interfaces.
