Kitchener Coffee & Conversation - Progress

The topic of AI has been in the air these days which made me think of the broader theme of progress. There are many different forms of progress… personal progress, social progress, scientific progress, technological progress, etc.… all with differing motivations and resistances, but also very interconnected.

So let’s consider these questions in this week’s conversation…

• What progress have you made in your own experience and what type of progress do you think is most needed in the world?

• What are the side-effects of progress? What should we take into consideration when making personal changes or bringing in progressive ideas and new technologies?

• Who or what drives progress and how does that influence the type of progress that is made?

One thing I will say about the topic of progress is that despite how powerless we may feel to affect larger systems, it’s in our day to day choices and interactions where progress is often made. For that reason, I think you should join us this week for what I expect will be a forward-thinking conversation. I look forward to seeing you there :)
