Kitchener Coffee & Conversation - Emotional Intelligence

With so much talk about AI these days, it’s only fair that we also talk about EI. No, not Employment Insurance, but Emotional Intelligence.

A while back we tried to have a conversation on the topic of emotions, which didn’t exactly go as planned, but in a roundabout way it highlighted the value of emotional intelligence. I also think EI is relevant to the topic of AI if we choose to bring that into the mix.

Why don’t we start with these questions and see where things go…

• What does EI look like, sound like, and feel like or what are some signs that someone (or something) is lacking EI?

• Can EI be taught, cultivated, or replicated and if so how? What may interfere with the development of EI?

• How does EI differ from other forms of intelligence? As a society, are we becoming more emotionally intelligent or less?

I feel that real human interaction is something worth prioritizing, so if you feel that too then you’re more than welcome to join us this week. While we tend to explore deeper topics, we also bring lightheartedness into our talks, so it’s usually a relaxed and uplifting vibe. I hope you can make it :)
