Kitchener Coffee & Conversation - Diversity

In this week’s conversation, let’s explore all the ways we are different- in our abilities, how we think, what we enjoy, how we approach life, what we look like, where we’re from, etc. We tend to talk about diversity only within certain contexts, but there’s much more diversity to the experience of being diverse.

Here are a few questions to get us started…

• What makes you different? What do you appreciate about your uniqueness and what would you change about yourself if you could?

• What experiences have you had around feeling different? What were the positives and/or negatives of those experiences?

• In what ways do you feel a pressure to conform? When is conforming in everyone’s best interest, and when is it better to go against the norm?

I know it sounds super cliché, but let’s celebrate our uniqueness by sharing about our differences and discuss the rewards and challenges of interacting with so much diversity. All are welcome of course. Hope to see you Thursday :)
