Do you have any good advice? In this week’s conversation, let’s share our advice about advice giving and discuss our experiences with giving and receiving advice.

Advice giving can be tricky as we walk a fine line between being supportive and meddling. And taking advice requires discernment so that we don’t lose ourselves in other people’s way of seeing things. So let’s talk about these questions…

  • Do you tend to seek advice from others, and if so, who do you approach and how often do you listen and follow through with the advice you’re offered?

  • Do others come to you for advice and/or are you inclined to offer unsolicited advice? If so, what type of advice are you likely to give?

  • What positive and/or negative experiences have you had with offering or taking advice? What should we consider when giving or receiving advice?

With an extra hour this week, there’s plenty of time for you to join us. We are a welcoming group and while we usually don’t give each other direct advice, we gain a lot from what we each share. I would advise you to come, but of course you don’t have to listen to me :) Hope to see you Thursday!

LOCATION:
To accommodate our growing numbers and need for a quieter space we will be meeting in a church community hall listed below (this is not a religious gathering).

Community Hall
414 Fisher-Hallman Rd (view map)
Kitchener, ON N2M 4Y1

NOTE: The RSVPs here represent only some who may attend this recurring discussion group (such as 1st timers) along with regular attending members who may not RSVP here.

In this safe, inclusive, casual, and accepting environment, dialogue is encouraged over debate. No particular set of beliefs (or creed) is required. Whether to discover yourself amidst a community on a common journey or to find meaning among new friends, there is room at the table for you.

See you there!
