Hello again creative coders and enthusiasts!

Thank you to those who joined us for our fun and inspiring poetry themed afternoon at CREA last month. While we were just getting comfortable in our cosy corner there, this time around we're going somewhere else.

For our April edition we are invited back to our friends over at Miro's. Well, same friends but a different location as they moved offices last month. We're excited to see where they landed.

What we're even more excited about though, is this month's topic: Pen Plotters! A topic near and dear to us. For those unfamiliar with the term, a 'pen plotter' is a device that holds a pen and can do X, Y, pen up & pen down movement. They come in different shapes and sizes and can also hold more than just a pen. People get very creative with them and even build their own contraptions...

In our upcoming special we'll give a brief overview of the history of plotters and a selection of artists we love, and share some of our own plotter work. However this is also an invitation to you to share what you've seen or made in the space that got you all excited. Anything goes!

To top it all off, there's even more! David and Stanko will be bringing along their AxiDraw's (A3) and we'll be doing some plotting on the spot! If you've always wanted to try and plot something but never got around to it, this could be your chance!

We've made an upload form where you can drop your SVGs. As plotting takes time and our time is limited, we might have to make a selection of what exactly we can plot, but don't let that stop you! We're happy to provide advice or feedback, just drop a note with the upload and we'll get back to you.

Or come and ask your question on our Discord!

For now we'll end with these few resources, The first is an informative article about pen plotting and its history:
How Pen Plotting Evolved into a Form of Art - Jared MapleThorpe
The second is for if you want to get started but don't know how, this page has a bunch of SVG generators to jump right in:
SVG Tools by DrawingBots (Maks Surguy)
Or if you want to dive deeper and generate the SVGs yourself, there's a bunch more resources here:
How to Pen Plot - Admin :)

Or you can use one of the tools made by David or Stanko for this very purpose :)
