The Coffee House for Social Medicine is the first of a monthly series at Mutiny Information Cafe exploring strategies in community mental/social/imaginal mutual-aid.
The CFSM will be an opportunity to gather practitioners and community members interested in peer-to-peer, collaborative, friend-led forms of care across range of practices. Activities encompassing mental, somatic and spiritual practices, creativity, activism and beyond, termed "Radical Helping", occupy spaces outside/in-between institutions, question destructive dominant narratives and dare to imagine better futures.
Inspired by The Casino for Social Medicine in Berlin and other experiments in DIY community self-care, the CFSM, is an evolving, experimental project, intended to mix multiple voices and approaches. Events may include, speakers, performance, groups, workshops, help desks, art, books, zines and more. We are appriciative of Mutiny Information Cafe for hosting and embodying our intentions for this event.
Confirmed participants for November, 6th include, Crafter and Zine-Maker, Emile Tucker, Artwitch Khiri Lee, Intersectional Environmentalist Sasha Zeilig, Zack Kopp on Punk Metaphysics and a round-table hosted by Denver Psychopoetic.
