Culture Freedom Day

Details
From the makers of Software Freedom Day, (I am assuming) comes a new annual event:
http://www.culturefreedomday.org/
Culture Freedom Day is a coordinated global event to outreach to communities about why it is important to share and build on the creativity of the past, present and future.
Throughout New Zealand and in Wellington specifically we have a lot of culture to share, projects to promote and people to talk to. The only thing we are lacking is a few volunteers to help organize an event and a place to have it.
Just a few projects we could highlight:
- Digital New Zealand
- WikiEducator
- New Zealand Electronic text centre
Not to mention Creative Commons Aotearoa itself.
Can you think of a reason not to celebrate these things? Can you think of place that would be good to celebrate, where we might best engage the community?
