Hollywood Nights: A Glamorous Photo Meetup Inspired by Avedon & Hurrell
This month, we’re turning the spotlight on Hollywood glamour. Join us for an unforgettable night of creativity, style, and iconic photography lighting. Our focus will be on recreating the iconic lighting setups and portrait styles made famous by two legendary photographers: Richard Avedon and George Hurrell

Richard Avedon:

1. High-Key Lighting: Avedon often used high-key lighting, which means bright, even lighting with minimal shadows. This creates a clean, sharp look, often with some contrast in the background.

2. Simple but Striking: Avedon’s portraits tend to be starkly simple. He didn't clutter the image with unnecessary details, often keeping the background simple or even plain.

• Focus on Expression: Avedon’s photos captured raw emotion, often with his subjects' intense gazes or strong expressions.

George Hurrell:

1. Classic Hollywood Glamour Lighting: Hurrell is famous for his high-contrast, dramatic lighting that gives depth to facial features. He often used a technique called Rembrandt lighting, where light falls from one side of the face and creates a small triangle of light on the opposite cheek.
2. Dramatic Shadows: Hurrell’s lighting often created sharp contrasts between light and shadow, emphasizing the contours of the subject’s face and creating a more dramatic effect.
3. Stylized Backdrops: Hurrell often paired his stunning lighting with dark, rich backdrops, adding to the glamour of the shot.

We will have several lighting stations where you can experiment with lighting setups.
