Creative Expression for Self-Care - Art Journeys

Hello! Looking to share your creative expression art-making journey with other like-minded adults ? Consider joining our online-only group. We’ll meet together to support each other as we individually endeavor to translate our inner thoughts, emotions, and experiences into expressive pieces of visual art. Having formal artistic skills isn’t required. Sometimes what drives art creation is simply the joy of the process — the flow. Other times, it’s our end result images that engage us — revealing an understanding that we needed to crystallize through art creation for personal growth. What is meaningful to accomplish can vary for each of us from meeting to meeting in step with how we are each feeling.

In addition to gathering together to create our art, value will be placed on creating a space for positive meaningful interactions that promote camaraderie and community. To encourage this, our meetings follow a set structure to ensure everyone can be seen and heard.

The overall length of the event is 2 hours, comprised of three 40 minute segments. At the beginning of each segment a suggested prompt will be given for inspiration. However, you can always work on whatever art you’d like. We’ll share our works towards the end of each segment. Sharing what you end up working on is optional — but highly encouraged.

Please note that this is not a therapy group. There is no professional therapist leading it. So if you find yourself getting unstable or operating from a fragile window of tolerance for emotional topics, please understand that you might be asked to exit the event to take care of yourself and join us in a future event.

For emotional safety, this group is for adults only and you will need to have your camera on so that you are visible.
