About us
We are a group of friendly and creative people who play social, collaborative, and creative games focused on storytelling, improvisation, comedy, and coming up with creative ideas.

We run several kinds of events:
- Story games - collaboratively improvise a fun story, play the roles of characters in the imaginary world we create together (think Dungeons and Dragons, but with much simpler rules).
- Improv games - improvise fun comedy scenes, learn to come up with funny and creative ideas.
- Comedy games - creative games and exercises that teach you the methods comedians use to come up with jokes and brainstorm comedy sketches.
- Walk & Talks - walk around Turia park and have creative conversations exploring absurd hypothetical scenarios.
Come join us! Enjoy improvising fun ideas, learn storytelling and creative skills, meet new people, make friends!
Everybody's welcome! It doesn't matter if you've never tried storytelling/roleplaying/improv games before - join one of our events and try it out!
What are story games?
They're tabletop games where we collaboratively create a story by using simple game rules, creative prompts, and dice rolls to determine what happens. Each player takes on the role of a character (or a narrator) in the story, and we describe what our characters say and do in the imaginary world we create together.
Have you heard about Dungeons and Dragons? It's like that, but without all the complex rules and mathy combat encounters - we focus on making up stories and playing interesting characters, rather than fighting monsters.
What are improv games?
We meet in Turia park and play improv games - fun exercises where we improvise comedy scenes together. We practice a simple step-by-step process for creating funny scenes: establish a believable situation, introduce something absurd, and build on it to make the scene funnier and funnier.
It is a great way to stretch your creative muscles, learn to come up with funny and creative ideas, or just have fun and meet friendly and creative people. You don't need to be funny or have any improv experience - the games are designed to make being funny easy.
Before coming to an improv event, please read this one-page PDF that explains everything we'll learn and practice during the workshop: Improv Sketch Workshop.
What are comedy games?
Ever wonder how comedians come up with jokes? It's not magic - it's a handful of simple methods that anyone can learn.
Comedy games are dumb, fast party games where the worst answer is the best answer. Each game is one of those joke-writing methods in disguise. We draw a card, everyone comes up with 1-3 answers to the prompt (don't try to be clever - the stupider, the better!), we read them aloud, build on each other's ideas, and pick our favorites.
You don't need to be funny to play. You'll be funny because you played.
What are Walk & Talks?
We walk around Turia park, enjoy nature, and have an interesting conversation exploring absurd hypothetical scenarios:
- What would you do if you were given $100,000 but had to survive being hunted by local Starbucks employees?
- What would you do if you were incapable of lying for one year, but in exchange could find out a true answer to any question?
- What would you do if you had the ability to record a short video that is guaranteed to get 8 billion views?
We skip the small talk and dive into exploring weird, silly, and unusual scenarios designed to prompt a unique creative conversation, and reveal something interesting about ourselves.
I've never played a roleplaying game! Can I still come?
Absolutely! No experience necessary, we'll be happy to introduce you to the hobby! You don't need to know the game rules ahead of time, you'll easily pick them up as you play.
If I come to a meetup, what should I expect?
- We'll meet and introduce ourselves.
- We'll play one or two short (3-10 min) "warm up" games, to get in the mood for storytelling and get creative ideas flowing.
- Then, we'll play a longer game (about an 1 hour) where we will improvise a story together - playing the roles of the characters in the story, and exploring the imaginary world we create together.
- After playing, we usually hang out for a bit - go for a walk, chat about the games, get to know each other. Feel free to head out whenever you need to, but sticking around is a great way to make new friends.
What kind of games will we play?
- Mirage - extremely simple, minimalistic roleplaying game you can learn in 5 minutes. Just create your character, and you're ready to go on your first adventure! Narrator (myself) has prepared an adventure, and will describe the imaginary world around you as you go on a quest. You will play as the hero of the story, describe what your character says and does (you can do anything, the only limit is your imagination!), and creatively overcome obstacles on the path to completing your quest. This game is easy to learn and to play, perfect introduction to the hobby!
- Story Source - improvise adventures from scratch, with no preparation. Nobody, not even the narrator, knows what story we're gonna tell. We will use creative prompts to invent a brand new adventure, and roleplay through it. You get to play both the parts of the hero and the narrator of the story.
- The Perfect Heist - you play as the greatest thief in the world. Go on heists to steal things - for yourself, for hire, or to help those in need!
- Pitch Storm - improvise ridiculous movie pitches, and play out the most fun scenes from these movies.
- Strangeville Files - improvise mysteries in the style of Gravity Falls, Scooby Doo, Harry Potter.
- Worlds Weird and Wonderful - create weird and wonderful fictional worlds together.
- Goblin Errands - play as goofy goblins who go on comical (mis)adventures trying to complete seemingly mundane tasks as you struggle with a world not designed for you.
