About us
Creative Hangouts is for anyone who's curious and finds joy in making things. We gather to slow down, put our phones away, and spend a couple of hours unwinding and creating alongside other people. No pressure to be good. No expectation to finish. No right way to do it. Just bring your curiosity and enjoy making in community.
Unplug. Create. Connect.

Create: The Floor Is the Canvas | Music, Movement & Live Sound
49 Dunlevy Ave, 49 Dunlevy Ave, Vancouver, BC V6A 3A3, Canada, Vancouver, BC, CAA return to your center. An evening of music, movement and live sound, where the whole floor becomes one shared canvas.
Space is intimate and we are keeping it to a max group of 20 including me and Komal. Your spot is confirmed once your ticket is booked on the site.
The Experience
The floor is covered in paper and you're handed markers and colors. The music starts with a pulse and builds, and you let your hands and body move with it. There is no technique and nothing to get right. Some people draw big sweeping lines and some barely touch the paper. Both are welcome. As the music slows, your marks slow with it. Then I play singing bowls and sound instruments live while you rest, or keep moving if your body still wants to.Tickets are $90. Book your spot here: stillnesscuratedretreats.com/product/create-in-stillness
The Flow
- 6:30 Arrive and settle. Find your spot on the canvas and choose your first color.
- 6:45 Welcome and grounding. A few minutes of breath to land in the room.
- 6:55 Move on the canvas. 24 minutes of music that builds to a steady rhythm and then slowly unwinds.
- 7:20 Live sound. Singing bowls and sound instruments played live. Lie down and receive, or keep moving and marking.
- 7:45 Integration. A slow, quiet walk around the canvas you made together, then an open circle for anyone who wants to share.
- 8:05 Quiet close. Journal, sip tea and take a photo of your corner of the canvas before you head home.
Who this is for
- You've been living in your head all week and your body has been along for the ride.
- You want to make something without a goal attached to it.
- You want an evening that feels different from dinner, drinks or another night on your phone.
- You don't consider yourself a dancer or an artist, and that's exactly the point.
What to bring
- A yoga mat or a cushion for your knees
- Clothes you can move in and don't mind marking
- A bottle of water
- A journal if you'd like one
We provide the mark making materials and paper.
Good to know
- No art or dance experience needed. This isn't a class and there's nothing to perform. You set the pace and can step out at any point.
- The sharing circle is optional. Listening is a full way to take part.
- We may take a few photos of the canvas and the room. Let us know if you'd rather not be in any.
