THE LIGHT THAT FILLS THE EMPTY SPACES

During the last week of January, Alba Fernandez Arias, the founder of the creative hub Espazo A Maceta (Galicia, Spain) is visiting Prostor in the framework of the Peer2Peer exchange, supported by the European Creative Hubs Network.

On Friday starting at 19h, we are organizing an informal meet-up, during which Alba will present their work, focusing on the project “Muros Consciente” implemented during the last two years in the small town of Muros. The artistic interventions were used to transform empty commercial spaces into authentic ephemeral museums. With this project, apart from highlighting the importance of creativity as a tool for social change and environmental criticism, the aim was to draw attention to the current situation of many spaces that remain unused in their city and the larger problems that the historical center is facing.

Drawing a parallel to the Voids initiative that CHC implemented in Split from 2020-2022, we will discuss the topic of sustainable development of historical cities and the role that arts and culture play in the process.
