The new edition of Travel Nights brings a story from Mongolia and an artist residency in Ulaanbaatar, shared by Nick Tobier.

“It took me 46 hours to travel from the US to Ulaanbaatar. Mongolia felt vast and very quiet, with great distances between people and a language filled with space and air.” As the first international artist in residence at Nomadic Red Corner, Tobier collaborated with local artists and craftspeople, spent time with throat-singers, and took part in transforming an abandoned bus into a community artist studio.

Nick Tobier’s work as an artist-designer focuses on the social life of public places — from bus stops to kitchens and boulevards. His work is part of the 2025 Venice Biennale and the 2024 Splitski Salon, and has been presented at the Smithsonian, the Queens Museum (New York), the Mattress Factory (Pittsburgh), the Prague Quadrennial, and Somerset House in London, with an upcoming presentation at MKC in July.

Join us for the night of storytelling and drinks!
