Creative ShapeShifters

Creative Shapeshifters invites you to experience the transformative and healing power of creative expression through carefully guided synaesthetic sessions where intuitive painting, sound, movement, drawing, sculpting and mixed-media experimentation become tools to shift something deeper within.

We believe the artistic process is a way of shapeshifting, of transmuting emotions and thoughts, navigating realities and parts of oneself. In the shapeshifting sessions, participants are guided to experiment and develop their own creative languages and artistic sensibilities in accordance with their personal shifting object.

In the process, we experiment and learn about a wide variety of visual techniques and materials such as: acrylics, watercolorus, inks, collage, gold leafing, clay and ceramics, organical pigments and bindings, graphic techniques and various supports, book-making and even paper-making.

Each gathering begins with an invitation to arrive as you are, carrying a “shape” that seeks transformation — whether a subtle tension, a persistent feeling, an inner imprint, or something undefined yet present. Through a structured yet open process, this shape is externalised, explored, interrupted, and reconfigured, allowing what feels fixed to become fluid.

Our approach weaves together intuitive exploration and technical guidance, offering both artistic tools and conceptual frameworks that support personal expression without prescribing outcomes. The emphasis is not on perfection, but on process, on witnessing how material, gesture, and sensation can catalyse inner movement.

Creative Shapeshifters is not a conventional art class, nor a clinical therapeutic space. It is an experiential field: part studio, part laboratory, part ritual, where creative practice becomes a conscious act of transformation.

Who are we?
Creative Shapeshifters is founded by two Berlin-based professional visual artists working across painting, drawing and mixed media. Our individual practices explore transformation, consciousness and the intersection between material and perception. Through these sessions, we are very happy to share tools, techniques, and conceptual approaches developed within our own artistic journeys, as well as valuable technical insights and discoveries that might inspire you.
