The Northern California Renaissance Faire is an immersive, 16th-century Elizabethan festival located at Casa de Fruta in Hollister, California, about 110 miles southeast of Alamo. Running weekends from mid-September to late October, it features an interactive artisan marketplace, live jousting tournaments, and non-stop entertainment across seven stages.
Set in the fictional village of Willingtown during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, the faire brings history and fantasy to life.
Key highlights and features include:- Artisan Marketplace: Over 200 vendors selling handcrafted wares, including leatherwork, time-period clothing, jewelry, and ceramics.
- Entertainment: Comedic theater, sword fighting, magic acts, traditional Morris dancing, and Celtic rock concerts on Saturday nights.
- Food & Drink: Classic faire favorites like giant turkey legs, meat pies, and roasted artichokes, served alongside period ales, ciders, and mead at themed taverns.
- Interactive Play: Guests can participate in interactive quests, watch twice-daily Royal Jousts, and even solve murder mysteries.
