What we’re about
Have you finally started to write that fantastic novel idea you've had for years? Are you an experienced author who likes to discuss your work and help others get to where you already are? Do you want constructive feedback on those poems you keep in your drawer?
Then this is for you: an online creative writing group for writers of all levels (in English). It's an opportunity to share your work, get feedback, and help others get better, too. We share tips and tricks, provide practice cases, and organize fun contests.
Welcome!

Let's have some fun and have a session dedicated to a writing assignment (optional, as always). There are 2 assignments you can choose from, or both:
OPTION 1:
### Genre Swap
Purpose: Practice voice, language, and tone in different genres.
Exercise: Take the mundane scene of ironing and write it in two different genres — for example, noir detective and high fantasy, or horror and romantic comedy. Max 200 words per scene.OPTION 2:
### The Wrong Voice
Goal: Practice how voice transforms the reader’s experience of content.
Exercise: Write a dramatic or tragic scene in a comedic or overly formal tone — or vice versa. For example, a breakup letter in the style of a product recall notice, or a ghost story told like a Yelp review. Max 250 words.Upload your submission for constructive feedback from the group as a Google Doc (convert Word docs) in this folder. It's a different folder than the one for regular submissions, as we'll be focused on the specific writing exercises this time.
For reviewers:
- You can leave written comments in the margins of the document for the author (avoid making changes in the actual document). If you don't want to be biased by other reviewers' comments, choose the viewing mode.
We will discuss the assignment submissions in our online session in order of upload date/time (first come, first served), provided the max wordcount is adhered to. It could be that not all submissions can be discussed, but you can still use the written comments from the group.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting, where we will review "regular" submissions again (no assignment), will be on July 17 - as planned.Let's help each other become better writers!

This group is for anyone, everywhere, who wants to improve their creative writing skills and/or build a network with other writers. Whether you've only just started - or planning to - or are a published author doesn't make a difference; everyone is welcome, as long as you stick to our rules of mutual respect and constructive feedback.
It's also open to all kinds of writing: novels, short stories, non-fiction, song lyrics, screenplays, poetry, etc.
WELCOME!HOW DOES IT WORK?
If you have work you want feedback on, please upload it as a Google Doc (convert Word docs) in this folder. Please make sure it's not longer than 2000 words, so other members have a chance to review several pieces. If it's part of a novel or another longer piece, you can give a short summary of the context at the start. Useful is also if you highlight specific elements you may want feedback on.What will be reviewed:
We will dedicate our time to reviewing/discussing 3 submissions (4 if time allows). These will be the ones uploaded earliest (since the previous meeting) and adhering to the 2000 word limit.More written feedback
All members are invited to provide constructive written comments in all or any submissions - even those we may not have the time to discuss in our meeting. So even if your piece is not reviewed in the session, the written feedback is likely to be useful for you.For reviewers: please include your feedback as comments in the margin and do not make any changes/corrections in the original text. It's always up to the author whether or not to take on board a change.
Submissions from earlier Meetups are stored in the ARCHIVE if you're interested in earlier work.
Let's help each other become better writers!
