About us
Are you thinking about writing a novel in English, even if that's not your first language?
Have you started writing, and would you like some constructive feedback from peers?
Or maybe you've finished a manuscript and wonder how to publish and market your work?
This might be the group for you.
Our purpose is to help each other get better at the craft and meet other writers.
We discuss each other's work as well as writing- and publishing-related topics. There may be the occasional session dedicated to a writing exercise or a specific topic; this will then be mentioned at the op of the event description.
All levels are welcome, as long as you stick to our rules of mutual respect and constructive feedback.
It's open to different kinds of writing: novels, short stories, song lyrics, screenplays, poetry, etc., and it doesn't matter whether you're an aspiring author or you have several published works under your belt. The main focus is on fiction writing and on writing in a second language, but native English speakers are of course VERY welcome, too.

If you have work you want feedback on:- Post max 2000 words;
- Upload it at least 2 days before the meeting as a Google Doc (convert Word docs) in this folder.
If it's part of a novel or another longer piece, include a brief summary of the context at the start. Useful is also if you highlight specific elements you may want feedback on.
We will pick 3 pieces for discussion that comply to these rules, but members are invited to leave written comments as well, so you may get feedback even when your submission isn't picked for a live discussion.
Participants & reviewers:
We will generally not read out the submissions during the session but dive straight into the feedback. So if you have the possibility to read some of the pieces before the meeting (posted in this folder), you'll get the most out of the session.
Feel free to include your feedback as comments in the margin, but please do not make any changes/corrections in the original text. It's always up to the author whether or not to take on board a change.Submissions from earlier Meetups are stored in the ARCHIVE if you're looking for earlier work.
Send me a DM to request a specific topic for discussion in the group.
Let's help each other become better writers!
